Whereas France recently celebrated the 40th anniversary of abortion legalization, the woman’s right to choose is still not guaranteed everywhere in Europe. In Ireland, abortion is punishable by a fourteen-year jail sentence. Every year, it is estimated that thousands of women travel to the UK to access this medical procedure.
